It may be, that if you are using the admin interface of Blogless from Linux, that some symbols are missing. Just install the Symbola font to make these unicode symbols available:
For Ubuntu and Mint Linux users:
sudo apt-get install ttf-ancient-fonts
For Gentoo users:
emerge symbola
For Fedora users:
yum install gdouros-symbola-fonts
